- 1934-1969. US lawn tennis player, nicknamed
- `Little Mo' because she was just 91 cm/5 ft
- 2in tall. In 1953 she became the first woman
- to complete the Grand Slam by winning all
- four major tournaments. All her singles
- titles (won at nine major championships)
- and her Grand Slam titles were won between
- 1951 and 1954. She also represented the USA
- in the Wightman Cup.
- After a riding accident 1954 her career was
- ended. She died of cancer 1969. CAREER
