  1. 1934-1969. US lawn tennis player, nicknamed
  2. `Little Mo' because she was just 91 cm/5 ft
  3. 2in tall. In 1953 she became the first woman
  4. to complete the Grand Slam by winning all
  5. four major tournaments. All her singles
  6. titles (won at nine major championships)
  7. and her Grand Slam titles were won between
  8. 1951 and 1954. She also represented the USA
  9. in the Wightman Cup.
  10. After a riding accident 1954 her career was
  11. ended. She died of cancer 1969. CAREER
